Sharp increase was seen in the forward cottonseed oilcake price on Wednesday as buying continued on anticipation of further rise in the prices, dealers said. The March vaida commenced unchanged at Rs 406.00, which proved to be day's lowest also. Later, it gained 2.30 to be day's best at Rs 408.60 and closing was seen at the same level due to rising demand, dealers said.

The May contract opened at the overnight level at Rs 416.10. In the process of trading it gained Rs 3.20 to be day's highest at Rs 419.30. Later, it lost Rs 3.30 to be day's bottom at Rs 416.00 and market settled at Rs 417.20.
